The Tagged Challenge
TAGGED.COM WORTH YOUR TIME?
Many good social marketers have tried their luck on tagged.com and discovered it’s not so easy to work it. Tagged is a bland, boring social site that really has very little features or bells or whistles. What it does have is a good user base and decent converting traffic. So it has been the target of a few marketers. What they find out quickly is tagged has a aggressive anti spam system in place to combat spammers. They will ban any domain url used for spamming. They have long since banned blogger, google pages, and most of the shorturl redirect services. They will also ban your IP so you can not access the site. All this is simply a tempting challenge for the more experienced marketers.
How good is the traffic on tagged? Pretty decent. And many report very decent conversion rates that surpass msypace conversion which has dropped lately. This is what makes tagged so appealing. But working it is a major challenge. It’s not any one thing they do, which can all be worked around. It’s the combination of all that presents the problem. You will need a endless supply of fresh urls to use. You will need quality proxies. And you will need to switch your affiliate sponsors too! After tagged begins to see you are a regular spammer they will contact your sponsor by attorney and tell them to stop you. This is really all they can do if you use disposable domains and proxies. But its enough to make it a pain in the ass.
So is it all worth it? Not for the average marketer! The average marketer will be far better off just moving on to other pastures. But if your a seasoned marketer, and are up to the challenge, then you may be able to work tagged for months. Passive marketing is not profitable enough on tagged, they delete, ban the same no matter what you do, so brute force is the best way, and this approach is certainly not for every one. You will need nerves of steel, and be able to hide yourself! But tagged can be worked if you have the resources and balls.
